Just to get an idea of how big a trillion is: 1 day = 86,400 seconds; 1 year = 31,557,600 seconds; 1 million seconds = 11.6 days; 1 billion seconds is 31.5 years; and 1 trillion seconds is 31,688 years.
According to Congress representative Kat Cammack says that only 6% of the $1.2 trillion Senate Infrastructure Bill is earmarked for roads, bridges and ports (but Congressman Kevin Brady indicates it is about 25%). Some experts think that the bill will really cost over $5.5 trillion. Included in the Infrastructure bill is a child tax credit (which is really universal basic income) which will discourage work and cost $1trillion. The paid family and medical leave program will subsidize affluent Americans earning above $200,000 per year but is touted as helping the low-income. Included is DACA pathway to citizenship, free school meals, greener farming and Medicare expansion. Brady claims that this bill will cover many of the Green New Deal projects, will expand the government’s power over the energy sector, will “empower the greatest tax hike in American history, the largest expansion of the welfare state in our lifetime, and guarantee rising prices” due to the government spending which is fuel for inflation.
There are some abnormalities In the Infrastructure. First of all it classifies highways and buildings as racist. According to Life and Liberty, On page 2,149 of the bill it reads: “No individual in the United States may, on the basis of actual or perceived race, color, religion, national origin, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, or disability, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity that is funded in whole or in part with funds 16 made available to carry out this title. This would make gender identity a protected class. What does this have to do with infrastructure?
Contained on page 1,066 of the $1.1 trillion infrastructure bill is a hidden price hike on new vehicles – mandating a new feature (within six years) which will require all new vehicles to have a passive monitoring device to detect drug and alcohol overuse. Section 13002, titled “National Motor Vehicle Per-mile User Fee Pilot,”is a pilot program to demonstrate how a national motor vehicle per mile user fee would work. This is to recover some of the lost revenue from the 18.4 cents per gallon of fuel used by combustible vehicles. Would this tax be levied on combustible cars too (double tax)? $175 billion would be used for subsidizing electric vehicles.
Also, $10 billion would be spent to create a Civillian Climate Corp. The current administration claims that “This $10 billion investment will put a new, diverse generation of Americans to work conserving our public lands and waters, bolstering community resilience, and advancing environmental justice through a new Civilian Climate Corps.”
Also in this bill is a proposal that employers with at least five employees would have to offer a retirement plan (default plan of a Roth IRA) which would automatically enroll the employees. It would divert six percent of the employee’s pay to the retirement account. By the end of the fifth year, this employee contribution would increase to 10%.
One of the most alarming items that were listed under the bill’s revenue sources was the “Strategic petroleum reserve sale.” Another revenue source would be state and local investment in broadband infrastructure. Anytime that state or local governments spend money, it first comes from tax payers. I am not against increasing taxes to fund broadband but what I am against is the Federal government mandating it. Let local state representatives decide how much and who pays.
The $1.2 trillion Infrastructure Bill is linked to the $3.5 trillion Reconciliation bill through their policy objectives. Listed in these bills is amnesty for 20,000,000+ for illegal immigrants with free education through college, and free health care programs established for illegals. $200,000 will be spent for a park in Nancy Pelosi’s district and $80 billion increase in the IRS’s budget (double the number of IRS agents).
Sen. Kennedy stated that “this bill would cause $4 trillion in new spending, $2 trillion in new taxes and $2 trillion in new debt and would tax, spend and regulate America into neo socialism. This bill would incur $68 trillion interest in the next ten years. If you don’t like this massive spending bill, call your Congress person.
