I want to thank the Board Members of the Town of Grant for holding a Citizens vote for the passing of the Constitutional Rights Protection Resolution, as pertaining to the 2nd Amendment of the Constitution.
It is the finest and oldest way of petitioning our government on a local level and upholds the spirit of our founding. To quote the Declaration of Independence: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. – That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed” (In other words, “We The People”).
The Second Amendment states: A well-regulated Militia, be necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
Again, my thanks to the Board and the Citizens that came to express their support for the Constitutional Rights Protection Resolution which was passed by an overwhelming majority.
