This is America – should I be afraid to express my political and religious opinions in this land of the free? Unfortunately the answer may be yes.
I watch the news like everyone else and I have seen so much rioting, looting, death, vandalism, disrespect and disregard for the law that I cannot stay silent.
Many news sources limit their coverage of the riots because it does not appear to match their narrative. They call it mainly peaceful protests, but what I’ve seen is all but peaceful.
When I saw what happened to George Floyd I was horrified and angry. How would I react if he was my brother? I would want justice to be done. I might protest if justice was not being pursued and I certainly support those that peacefully protest. But what has happened?
There are those who want to tear down our country. To be honest, I don’t know or understand their motives. They appear to be well financed by someone who wants America destroyed. The protesting has gone well beyond the George Floyd murder.
We are all made in the image of God. He has offered the gift of salvation and eternity in heaven with Him to all who accept Jesus Christ as their personal savior. This includes everyone, all races and colors.
Joe Biden boasts about how progressive he will be as President. If he is elected what should we expect?
We should expect tax funded abortions and attacks on traditional marriage and family; reduced saftey and security because of restrictions on law enforcement; unreasonable environmental restrictions on oil production and refineries resulting in higher gas prices and dependence on hostile foreign countries for fuel. We should expect rising health care costs; rising unemployment and increased construction costs from environmental and other restrictions. Chinese influence in America will increase and we should expect Supreme Court appointees with limited regard for the Constitution. Finally, we should expect restricted religious liberty; higher taxes; gun confiscation while urban mobs and crime will spread to the suburbs and rural areas.
Like all of us, Donald Trump is not perfect, he has flaws like we all do. A friend once told me, “The reason we condemn others is that their method of sinning is different from ours.”
If Donald Trump is re-elected what should we expect?
We should expect continued support for pro-life issues and continued support for Israel. America has shown support for Israel since 1948 with few exceptions, such as when Biden was vice president under Obama. God has promised blessings to those who bless Israel and a curse to those who curse Israel. We should expect businesses to continue to thrive as a result of deregulation and fair trade agreements, resulting in more jobs and low unemployment; continued support for issues important to minority groups; an energy policy that will keep America energy independent; appointment of judges that will respect the Constitution and not legislate from the bench. And we should expect him to appreciate and respect law enforcement officers.
What kind of America do you want?
Please vote – I believe America is at a turning point that may not have a return.
