This is in response to the article you had in the paper a couple of weeks ago about everything being made of plastic. It has really become a way too popular thing. Everywhere and everything, plastic, plastic, plastic, and yet nothing is being done about all the (crap) garbage being thrown into our roadsides, parking, lots, on our sidewalks & streets, when it rains hard, just where does it go? It gets washed into our CREEKS, RIVERS AND LAKES and OCEANS. SAD. VERY SAD. What this world is becoming and now I have even seen where young and other livestock have ingested some of these items and died from it. It takes anywheres from 20 for 450 years for this plastic to even break down in the landfills. I seriously think it’s time for companies to find other biodegradable materials to package their product in. And schools to teach these children not to throw candy wrappers and chip bags on the ground. This goes for bottles and cans also. We REALLY need to start respecting our land and waters a lot more, before it’s too late. There is only so much LAND and when it’s gone, there will be nothing. I actually hated it now that the snow is gone only to reveal the trash in the ditches. So many bottles, cans, pieces of tires and pieces off of cars, etc. It’s time something was done with all this. All roadsides need to be cleaned and anyone caught littering fined big and also make them say clean 10-15 miles of roadsides. Then I bet they wouldn’t do it again.
