In the June 2nd edition of the Glenwood City Tribune, Chris Geiger answered my letter to the editor stating I have “Pres. Trump stuck in” my head. No, I do not have cancer stuck in my head! Chris, I think you believe you are a psychic! You said Pres. Biden is my hero, you know I only use one news source, and you know what my religious beliefs are. You are wrong and you have no information or right to judge me on any of these areas, because none of those things were mentioned in my original letter to the editor. My heroes are Pres. Eisenhower, Audie Murphy, Pres. John F Kennedy, Hank Aaron, and Warren Spahn. And I listen to many reputable news sources.
The idea that Trump is a man of God is so inconceivable! And Pres. Trump was publicly pro-abortion for decades! Let us talk about how religious Trump is:
The settlement for Pres. Trump’s fraudulent university, was $25 million to compensate the victims of his scam. Does this qualify him as a religious man or a con man?
Trump shifted money that was raised to support kids with cancer to the Trump Organization. Again, are these the actions of a religious man or a con man?
When Pres. Trump’s dad died, there were 3 kids and 2 grandchildren that were supposed to inherit his estate. Trump lied and said the estate was worth 30 million and then tried to cut his niece and nephew out of that amount. A settlement was eventually reached (after threats were made to Trump’s niece and nephew), but after an investigation, it was found the estate was closer to a billion dollars! This case is still in court now. Are these the actions of a religious man, whose greed is so great that he cannot even have fairness with his own family?
Let us talk about what Trump said about John McCain. McCain was shot down over Hanoi. He could not move one arm and the soldiers who arrested him smashed the other shoulder and he laid close to death for a long time, with very little medical attention. He was tortured for years. Pres. Trump said because McCain let himself be captured, he wasn’t a war hero. I cannot even imagine the logic here and that self-proclaimed patriots, such as yourself Chris, would go along with such statements about members of our military that sacrificed so much! Trump did not serve in the same war, because his dad paid a doctor to lie about a foot problem (while Don was alright to play multiple sports in college). I heard an interview with Trump admitting that a doctor lied to keep him out of the service. He also said that he was fighting his own “personal Vietnam” trying to avoid sexually transmitted diseases on the dating scene and that he felt “like a very great and very brave soldier.” Again, are these words of a religious man? Where is Trump’s decency? John McCain was a true war hero!
Let us talk about a few facts. Pres. Obama created more jobs in his last 3 years in office than Pres. Trump did in his first 3 years in office.
When Mr. Geiger said that Pres. Trump had no wars while he was president, let us look at what he did to the Kurds in Syria. Turkey wanted to steal part of Syria. The Kurds were our ally. Pres Trump pulled our troops out of Syria at a crucial time and the Kurds were forced to sign an agreement with the leader of Turkey, our enemy. You work with your allies, not throw them to the wolves! Turkey took what they wanted because of Pres. Trump’s terrible treatment of an ally.
Mr. Geiger brought up losing thousands of jobs by closing the pipeline. Those jobs were set to last only a few years. Why not use wind and solar? They do not have to be pumped out of the ground and do not have the pollution problems like oil. Let us manufacture equipment to take advantage of these energy sources, which can create millions of jobs for decades!
Chris, when you brought up getting along with your adversaries, all the presidents since WW2 have had to do that. Do you think Pres. Putin has been honest with us? They interfered with our 2016 election and the criminals that messed with our eastern pipeline live in Russia with Putin’s blessing! Russia attacked a sovereign nation (our ally Ukraine). It is a 2-way street. Pres. Trump said he believes Pres. Putin over our intelligence services! That is hard to swallow!
You stated, “no support of Israel”. Do you know that foreign aid for Israel’s military has been part of our foreign aid policy for many years? Since then, all of our presidents have been for it! Pres. Biden has been for it since he was first elected to the Senate in the early 70s!
With all the talk about putting up a wall against Mexico, he put up only 4% of a new wall where it was not before! I noticed that Mexico did not pay of that 4% and if we would have put a tariff on Mexican goods coming into the US, we still would have been paying the tax, not Mexico. This is another Trump lie!
Trump lost the 2020 election by 7 million votes. He said that there was crooked work, that he actually won the election. The Trump people went to court 60 times trying to overturn the election results. They lost every time. That is a perfect 0 for 60 record. He lost plain and simple.
I taped a full hour of Fox News showing what Pres Trump told the mob on January 6th. An example of the may lies he told the mob was that there were 205,000 more votes in Pennsylvania than there were voters! He had another 4 whoppers about that state. When the Trump people went to court there, they had no evidence of these lies! He also told lies and had no evidence about many other states.
I also watched the January 6th mob attack on the capitol. I do not know what the final estimate of the damages to the capitol was, but I heard it was over 20 million dollars. Over 100 police officers were injured, and 5 people died. The guiltiest person with this fiasco was the one who planned it and insighted the mob. I believe that person to be Pres Trump. Last week the Republicans in the Senate, voted against a commission to investigate what led up to the January 6th attack and all aspects of it. I heard that 44 of 50 Republicans did not vote for it. America deserves to know the truth not cover it up!
