As many of you know… we lost a very dedicated employee last week… Tony Braaten. Tony had served several years for the Village as the grounds keeper. He was very meticulous at what he did and his workmanship and care for the Village was noticed by many. The Village would receive many compliments on how well Tony took care of the Parks and particularly the Evergreen Cemetery. He was all our resource and could be trusted when it came to identifying cemetery lots and ensuring the processes would be taken care of as loved one were laid to rest. Tony was a man of few words while at work, mainly I suppose because he had been doing the job for so long and was not one to burn the time clock. Tony always knew what he wanted to accomplish each day and worked until those tasks were done. I hope we can keep the bar high as Tony has set it when it comes to making our Village a beautiful place to live and visit.
On behalf of the entire Village Board and Administration I would like to recognize Tony Braaten for everything he gave to all of us in the Village of Colfax.
