MONDOVI — Glenwood City junior Landon Obermueller won medalist honors at the season and Dunn-St. Croix Conference opener in Mondovi April 8.
Obermueller shot a 36 in the conference’s first nine-hole meet of the season held at the Valley Golf Course last Tuesday to lead the Hilltopper boys’ golf team to a second-place finish. Two other Glenwood City golfers joined Landon Obermueller in the top ten. Seniors Esdyn Swenby shot a 39 to place fourth and Charlie Lamb carded a 43 to finish in eighth place.
Rounding out Glenwood City’s individual varsity scores were sophomore Will Obermueller with a 50 and senior Cole Wakeling who shot a 58.
As a team, Glenwood City finished as the runner-up, 12 strokes behind defending D-SC champion Durand-Arkansaw who took top team honors with a 156. The Panthers had four golfers finish among the top seven.
Elk Mound came in third with a score of 179, Mondovi shot a 198 for fourth, Colfax was fifth with a 200 and Spring Valley/Elmwood-Plum City was last after posting a score of 224.
