The Chippewa Falls McDonell Central Catholic-Elk Mound wrestling cooperative got the season underway at the Board Hyland Cardinal Invitational held Saturday, December 7 at Coon Rapids, MN High School.
Just three grapplers – Haiden Hay, Anthony Hay and Ford Hay – competed for the cooperative.
Haiden Hay wrestled at 139 pounds, Anthony Hay competed at 145 pounds and Ford Hay was at 152 pounds. All three finished the tournament with 0-2 marks.
McDonell Central Catholic-Elk Mound finished last in the 13-team invite with zero points. Hastings, MN won the meet with a score of 177, followed by runner-up Park at 171, Menomonie tallied a 157.5 to take third, Mankato East was fourth with a 144.5 and Eden Prairie finished fifth with a 124.5.
The cooperative competed in a jamboree at Cameron High School last Friday, December 20 and the following day in an invitational at Trinity School at River Ridge in the Twin Cities. Due to an early deadline for Christmas, the results were not yet available when the Messenger went to press.
