Although the Elk Mound volleyball team was only able to win one of the four matches it played last week, the one that it did win was the most important – a conference victory.
Traveling to Durand last Thursday, September 14 for the Dunn-St. Croix Conference volleyball opener, the Mounders secured a three-set sweep of the Durand-Arkansaw Panthers.
Despite several attempts to obtain more information about the match, neither set scores nor statistics were provided to the Colfax Messenger in time to make this week’s edition.
Then on Saturday, September 16, the Lady Mounders competed in the Eau Claire North Husky Invitational where they finished 0-3.
In the Husky Invite, Elk Mound lost in straight sets to Osceola (18-25, 14-25), Bloomer (12-25, 24-26) and New Richmond (11-25, 19-25).
In its only action this week, Elk Mound hosted Boyceville in a Dunn-St. Croix match last evening (September 19). Next Tuesday, September 26, Elk Mound will welcome rival Colfax to its home court.
