The Mounders returned home on Saturday, April 29 where it nipped Altoona 10-9 in a non-conference contest that was suppose to be part of a triangular that included Ashland, but bad weather caused the Oredockers to cancel their lengthy trip to Elk Mound.

They were in Plum City Monday to face Elmwood-Plum City with the Wolves coming to Elk Mound the following day. Mondovi
Elk Mound traveled to Mondovi for what was a battle for first place in the Dunn-St. Croix softball standings.
Both teams had entered the Tuesday, April 25 contest with unblemished records in conference play.
But, it would be the host Buffaloes that would emerge with a close 5-3 victory despite being outhit eight to six by the visiting Mounders.
Mondovi broke a scoreless tie with five runs in the bottom of the third. Elk Mound, who held their hosts scoreless the rest of the way, scored its first run in the top of the fifth and two more in the top of the seventh only to see its rally fall short.
The Mounders finished with two errors and the Buffaloes committed three.
Morghan Ashwell threw all seven innings for Mondovi allowing just three runs on eight hits to earn the pitching victory. She did not walk a batter and struck out nine Mounders. Ashwell also led the Buffaloes’ offense, finishing 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored.

Elk Mound led 4-2 going into the top of the fourth when Altoona scored three runs to take one-run lead.
