Mounder girls stay perfect with win over EC Regis

ELK MOUND — The Elk Mound girls’ basketball squad improved to 3-0 with a double-digits, home-court victory over Eau Claire Regis last Tuesday, November 22.
Holding a five-point advantage at halftime, the Lady Mounders padded their lead in the second half as they pulled away for an impressive 52-39 win against the Ramblers.
Elk Mound held a 21-16 lead going into the intermission and then cranked up its offense in the second half of play and outscored Regis 31-23 to claim the 13-point triumph.
Seniors Stella Rhude and Brooke Emery scored double digits to lead Elk Mound. Rhude topped her team with a dozen points on 6-for-7 shooting from the field while Emery canned three triples to finish with 11 points.
Fellow senior Tori Blaskowski added eight points which included a 6-for-7 performance from the charity stripe and finished with a team highs in assists and steals with six each. Sophomore Ellie Schiszik and junior Lydia Levra each finished with seven points. Schiszik added a team-leading five rebounds and five steals and tallied five assists. Junior Chloe Dummer chipped in with six points.
The Mounders finished with five three-points and were 11-of-15 from the free throw line.
The Lady Mounders have three games slated for this week. They were in Baldwin-Woodville on Monday evening, travel to Glenwood City Thursday, December 1 to open Dunn-St. Croix Conference play and close out the week taking on Altoona this Saturday evening, December 3 at 8:45 p.m. in the Colfax High School gym.
