Osseo pummels Millers
OSSEO — The Elk Mound Millers traveled to Osseo for a game at Merchant’s Park on Tuesday, June 14th and came away with a 16-3 loss to Post 324.
Osseo took the lead in the bottom of the first run scoring a single tally. The Millers evened the score when Zach Hiitola opened the inning with a base hit and advanced to second on an Ashton Greenwell walk. Both runners would advance on an error and Hiitola would eventually score on a Mason Books’ groundout.
The lead didn’t last, however, as Osseo would score five times in the bottom of the second. The Millers fought back with two runs of their own in the top of the third when Mitch Medin and Brayden Borek lead of the inning with walks. Medin would eventually score on a Kade Anderson groundout and Borek on a passed ball. That would be all of the runs the Millers could muster, while Osseo tacked on five more in both the third and fourth innings.
Mitch Medin started on the hill and took the loss for the Millers, working three innings while giving up eight hits, walking two and striking out three. Borek worked the final inning giving up two hits, walking three and striking out one.
The Millers travel to Baldwin and host Bloomer in this week’s games.
