Mounder boys and girls finish fifth at B-W Track Invite

BALDWIN — The Mounder boys’ and girls’ track and field teams both placed fifth at the nine-team Baldwin-Woodville Invitational held April 26.
The boys’ 4×800 meter relay team of Ian Hazen, Aiden Schiferl, Trae Schaefer and Cason Pederson struck gold while the 4x200m and 4x100m relays squads placed third and fourth, respectively, to lead squad to a tally of 79 points.
Freshman Brooks Burcaw finished third in both hurdling events (110m highs and 300 intermediates), junior Ian Hazen also copped a third in the 3,200m run and was sixth in the 800m run.
Grant Mueller took fourth int he triple jump and sixth in the long jump while fifths were earned by Landon Kasakaitas in the discus, Korbin Verdon in the 200 m and Will King in the high jump.
Aleya Hadenfeldt had the top finished on the girls side of Elk Mound finishing second in the 100 meter dash. She also grabbed a fifth in the long jump.
The ladies 4×100 and 4x400m relay squads both finished in third place.
Finishing with fourths were Kate Mohr in the 100m high hurdles and high jump and Marley King in the 800 meters. Grace Roder took home a pair of sixths in the discus throw and shot put.
The Mounder girls finished with 63 points.
Grantsburg won the boys competition with 170.50 while Amery was the top team in the girls standings with 210.5 points.
Elk Mound has a pair of meets this week, competing in Bloomer on Tuesday and at Colfax on Thursday.
