OSCEOLA — By virtue of placing fourth at the WIAA Division 2 sectional meet held in Osceola June 17, junior Korbin Verdon will be the lone representative for Elk Mound at the state track and field meet this week in La Crosse.
Verdon ran a time of :23.82 in the 200m dash to qualify for the Division 2 State Championship which will be held Friday, June 25 at Veterans Memorial Stadium.
Spencer Wolf was oh-so-close in joining Verdon as he was fifth in the 100 meter dash at :11.33 while the fourth place time was :11.32.
Verdon was sixth in the high jump, Ethan Levra was 11th in the 400 meter dash, and Antonio Meyer was 12th in the same event. Jack Gabert finished in 13th in the 110 meter high hurdles and 14th in the triple jump while Braedon Pederson was tenth in the long jump.
The boys 4×800 meter relay (Ian Hazen, Trae Schaefer, Aiden Schiferl, Cason Pederson) scored team points with a sixth place finish, the 4×100 meter relay team (AJ Miller, Logan Schultz, Spencer Wolf, Alex Woodford) finished 12th and, the 4×200 meter relay squad (Pederson Braedon, Korbin Verdon, AJ Miller, Spencer Wolf) was 14th.
For the girls, the 4×100 meter relay team (Aleya Hadenfeldt, Lydia Levra, Kennedy Pritchard, Olivia Schreiber) scored the only team point with an eighth place finish. Kennedy Pritchard was 12th in the 100 meter dash, Aleya Hadenfeldt was tenth in the 200 meter dash and Lydia Levra was 15th in the same event. Marley King placed 15th in the 800 meter run and the 4×800 meter relay squad (Carly Mohr ,Kyra Hadenfeldt, Madison Lehman, Mercede Rothbauer) was 11th.
