Scharlau completes second season for Concordia-St. Paul

2019 Colfax graduate George Scharlau, a former Dunn-St. Croix Conference Player of the Year, has taken his basketball talents to Concordia University-St. Paul.

Scharlau has played two years for the Golden Bears and has been a contributor in both seasons. As a freshman, he played in 25 games and started ten. He scored 96 points for a 3.8 average per game, grabbed 32 rebounds with 15 steals and six blocked shots. He had a season high 11 points against Hillsdale College.

This past season was shortened due to the COVID pandemic with the team playing just 14 games. The Golden Bears finished 1-13 with their only win coming against Minnesota-Crookston in their first game of the season. Scharlau played in all 14 games, starting in two, and scored 88 points on the year for a 6.3 average per game. He shots 42 percent from three-point range making 12-of-28 shots and made 10-of-13 shots from the foul line. He snared 39 rebounds and had 10 assists, 14 blocks and 10 steals.
