RICE LAKE – WITC’s loyal and generous donors continue to provide important financial assistance to the students WITC serves.
“We are very excited to provide a high level of support for our students,” said Kim Pearson, director of advancement. “Thanks to our generous donors, we are awarding 235 scholarships for spring semester tuition, with a total of $108,350 across our district. For many of our students, the extra funds make an amazing difference in their lives; the scholarships are what keep them moving forward toward academic success.”
Among the students that received scholarships are Keeley Christensen of Glenwood City, Dairy Herd Management major, Dairy Herd Scholarship in Memory of John and Ruth Johnson and Gorman and Elsie Roberts, $300.00; and Emily Smith of Glenwood City: Dairy Herd Management major, Barron County Sunrise Rotary Scholarship, $500.00.
Scholarships can sometimes be the one thing that makes college a possibility for a student. Students face individual struggles and the WITC Foundation continues to provide important financial assistance to those served at WITC.
In their scholarship application, one WITC student said, “I struggle everyday with the choice between eating and gas to get from home to school.”
Another student said, “This scholarship would help me pay for food and lessen work hours so I could eat more than once a day.”
There are many ways to help, from volunteering on the scholarship committee, to establishing a scholarship or making a financial contribution. Any generosity is appreciated by the Foundation and the students. WITC is grateful to all its community partnerships. Your support of the WITC Foundation is essential to student success.
