In the first-round of the WIAA Division 3 playoffs the Glenwood City Hilltoppers, who were seeded #7, were unable to get things done against the pitcher of #2 seed Regis Ramblers.
“They were the best team we have faced all season, their pitcher was throwing in the upper 80s and had control all over the plate,” said head coach Shane Strong.
Cole Logghe and Brandyn Hallquist each had one hit for Glenwood City, Logghe was one-of-one at the plate and Hallquist had one hit in his two at bats.
Also getting a hit for Glenwood City was Gavin Janson, he was one-of-one at the plate and was struck out twice.
The Toppers were struck out 11 times in six innings and were walked a mere three times, but the defense of the Ramblers was to much for Glenwood City.
“How they weren’t seeded #1 I don’t know,” said Strong. “They really are a great team to play.”
