The Elk Mound girls’ basketball team took to the hardwood twice last week with road games against St. Croix Central last Monday evening, November 26, and Boyceville on Thursday, November 29.
The trip to Hammond was a successful one for the Mounders as they put up another win by a score of 58-38 against the Panthers.
The Mounders headed to Boyceville on Thursday, November 29 to take on the Bulldogs and finished the first half of the game with a 21-point lead. The Mounders went on to win the game 62-28 despite Morgan Radtke staying quiet throughout the first 18 minutes of play.
Elk Mound, 1-0 and 3-1, returned home last evening, Tuesday, December 4, to take on the Colfax Vikings in the rivalry showdown and will return to the road for a pair of games against Spring Valley on December 7 and Baldwin-Woodville on December 10.
Hammond
The Mounders took to the road last Monday evening, November 26 to face the St. Croix Central Panthers and earned their second win of the season by 20 points.
“I thought our girls gave great energy, and really played solidly on defense in the second half,” head coach Jordan Kongshaug said.
Morgan Radtke led the way for Elk Mound with 23 points overall stemming from 11 field goals and one-for-one from the foul line. The Mounders’ senior has managed 78 points in the four games this season.
Brook Plaszcz had a successful evening putting up two doubles and a triple against the Panthers, sister Alana Plaszcz hit two doubles for a total of four points.
“It was a great team win and I appreciate our team’s effort,” Kongshaug stated.
Victoria Fasbender and Hailey Blaskowski each contributed five points a piece, Kayla Bridges tacked on six points and Sydney Simpson found the net for four.

Boyceville
For the Mounders, their second game of the week began with a 7-2 lead against the Bulldogs and they didn’t let up throughout the game, earning their first conference win and second victory of the week with a score of 62-28.
The Lady Mounders embarked on a 16-point run before Emma Ouellette of Boyceville ended it after finding the net chords for three.
Morgan Radtke, who was kept quiet for most of the first half, came alive in the second half to finish with 15 points against the Bulldogs. Radtke was one for two from the foul line and put up six doubles overall.
Brooke Plaszcz and Sophie Cedarblade were consistent from the three-point range each sinking two a piece, the pair hit the board for eight points each in the Mounders’ victory. Kayla Bridges finished with ten points.
