MONDOVI — The Glenwood City volleyball squad opened the Dunn-St. Croix portion of its 2018 schedule with a three-set loss to the Lady Buffaloes in Mondovi last Thursday evening.
The Hilltoppers were swept in the September 13 contest, losing to Mondovi by scores of 17-25, 15-25, and 23-25.
[emember_protectd] Senior Delaney Quinn led the attack with four kills during the three set match and Madelyn Oehlke and Alexis Curvello contributed three kills a piece.
Oehlke served up seven aces and eight kills to the Buffaloes, Jatelyn Johnson tacked on four more and Abby Kremer added in one more.
Leading the defense was Topper Tressa Peskar with nine digs for the night, Johnson and Quinn managed eight kills a piece and Alexis Curvello dug deep for another six digs.
The third set of the night was the closest game for the Hilltoppers as they came within two points of Mondovi but couldn’t get the win to continue the match.
Glenwood City, who is now 0-1 in conference play and 1-7 overall, travels to Plum City this Thursday, September 20 to take on the Blue Devils before returning home to host the Panthers of Durand next Tuesday, September 25. [/emember_protectd]
