Democrat Mary Hoeft’s candidacy for Wisconsin’s 7th Congressional District seat is an opportunity for residents to know that their voices are respected and heeded.
Mary has taught Communication Arts and French at the UW-Barron County for many years, and in addition to knowledge and wisdom has shared her endless enthusiasm for living with thousands of fortunate students.
Americans willingly work hard and in return ask only for what should be the foundations of civilization: equal health care for all; a middle-class wage scale; tolerance for and from others, including those with authority; affordable college tuition; confidence that Social Security will be available at retirement; protection of our environment; and security here and abroad.
I have known Mary for 25 years, both as a teacher and as an advocate for all people. One of her most valuable classroom lessons is that our best can always be improved. In striving toward that goal, Mary has earned several prestigious teaching awards, taught at a village school in Nepal, and served on the Rice Lake School Board and as a conference facilitator and board president for Barron County Restorative Justice Programs.
I know her to be steadfast in her beliefs and true to her word. Mary will work tirelessly for her constituents to protect our rights and our well-being.
This election can make a difference for those who long for a representative who understands the common working person. Please vote for Mary Hoeft in the primary election on Tuesday, Aug. 9.
