Letter to the Editor – Doug Hill – 6-8-2016

To GCHS alumni:

The reunion committee met again in late May. We were joined by Dr. Rasmussen and Nicole Brite representing the school; Nancy Stack from the Rustic Lore committee; and Joan Bartz from the Topper Partnership Foundation. Input and suggestions were offered by each of them. We look forward to working with them a great deal more.

We still need names and contact information from classes in the 1940’s, 1980’s, 1990’s and 2000’s. If your class has not sent us your information, we would appreciate any help.

We are also starting to put together a list of available housing for the out of towners. We will list motels, campgrounds, and bed and breakfasts. We need help finding the locations of the bed and breakfasts. I’m sure there are some we are not aware of in the surrounding area. Please get contact information to me if you know of any, so we can include them in the list we plan to send out.

Donation cans should be showing up at locations around town. Please give us a helping hand. We need help covering expenses, and we hope to do all with donations.

A note for alumni veterans. The school has developed what is known as a “Field of Honor”. All alumni veterans are welcome to have a paving stone with their information engraved on it at no cost to the veteran. Let the school know, or get the information to me and I will forward to the school. The “Field of Honor” is located near the flag pole at the high school football field.

Please forward questions and information to Doug Hill, 117 Tiffany Creek Road, Glenwood City, WI 54013. Telephone 715-565-4376.
