LTE – Lois Bossart – 10-30-2013

For the past several years, the senior citizens of Glenwood City have been gathering at the Senior Center to play games, eat lunch, and socialize. Because of dwindling attendance, however, there is a possibility that the center could eventually close its doors.

Senior centers in other communities have closed due to low participation numbers and we do not want that to happen here.

Every weekday morning the Senior Center provides Bingo at 10:15 and the opportunity to socialize with friends. Lunch is served at 11:45 to those who choose to eat there with a cost of $4 (or whatever you can afford to pay). Anyone wishing to eat lunch at the Center should call 24 hours in advance or leave a message.

The Senior Center has been a wonderful place for seniors to pass the time and enjoy each other’s company. We invite others to join us and help to keep the Center as a viable resource for the senior citizens of the community.
