MENOMONIE — A 20-year-old Colfax man has pleaded guilty to sexual assault and child enticement in Dunn County and has been sentenced to incarceration and extended supervision in St. Croix County on revoked probation for a felony conviction of animal cruelty.
Micah Allen Minor was scheduled January 24 for a plea hearing in Dunn County on one misdemeanor count of having sex with child age 16 or older and one felony count of child enticement with sexual contact and in St. Croix County was scheduled for a sentencing hearing on revocation of probation for a felony conviction of mistreating an animal and causing death and one misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct.
Minor previously resided in Wheeler but court records indicate his address changed to a Colfax residence on 560th Street last November.
According to the Dunn County criminal complaint, the sexual assault occurred at a house in the Town of Otter Creek.
The victim stated that Minor had forced her to have sex with him after she had told him “no” several times and had told investigators that Minor had given her alcohol and Xanax, according to the complaint.
Online court records indicate the Department of Corrections is recommending Minor be registered as a sex offender for 15 years.
Judge Peterson ordered a pre-sentence investigation and that the PSI be filed with the court by April 4.
A sentencing hearing is scheduled in Dunn County Circuit Court April 18.
In St. Croix County Circuit Court, Judge Scott Needham ordered one year and two months of initial confinement and 24 months of extended supervision consecutive to any sentence imposed in Dunn County.
Conditions of Minor’s extended supervision are that he maintains absolute sobriety with zero alcohol, zero controlled substances, zero prescribed medications (except as taken and prescribed by a physician) in his system, on his person or in his possession.
In addition to ordering Minor to continue with mental health treatment, Judge Needham ordered the defendant not to associate with any persons known or suspected to be involved in use, trafficking, dealing or manufacturing illegal drugs except in a treatment setting.
Minor also was ordered to obtain his General Equivalency Degree (GED) and is eligible for the Challenge Incarceration Program.
According to news reports, in the St. Croix County case, Minor told investigators he had been at a residence in Glenwood City and had knocked a loaded gun to the floor, that the gun had accidentally discharged and had struck a cat.
Investigators could find no evidence of an animal having been wounded inside the residence but discovered a bullet hole on the outside of the house, and the cat was found dead outside.
