Munkwitz named to the All-NSIC football team

GLENWOOD CITY — Jake Munkwitz graduated from the Glenwood City High School in 2011 and has since been an honor roll student and scholar athlete at Concordia University in St. Paul, Minnesota.

As a sophomore, Munkwitz has seen a great deal of playing time on the field for the Golden Bears at tight end and h-back with 11 games this season.

This has led to his recent achievement of being named as one out of 39 student-athletes to the All-Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Academic Team.

In his two short years as a Golden Bear, Munkwitz was named a Concordia University Scout Team Player of the Week at Minnesota State in September of 2012 and in October of 2011.

Jake is the son of Jim and Mary Munkwitz; Jim played on the Concordia-St. Paul football team from 1977-1980. Jake’s younger sister, Frankie is also a student athlete at the University and is a member of the softball team.
