MONDOVI — Although the Glenwood City volleyball had won just two of its first nine matches this season, it had hoped to open Dunn-St. Croix Conference play with a win when it visited Mondovi last Thursday, September 19.
While they stayed close throughout the match, the Hilltoppers lost in straight sets to the Lady Buffaloes.
Mondovi, always a strong conference contender, earned the sweep by scores of 25-17, 25-16 and 25-18.
No individual or team statistics from that match were available.
Glenwood City, now 0-1 in league play and 2-10 overall, hosted Durand-Arkansaw last evening (Tuesday, September 24) and travels north to Webster this Thursday for a triangular that also includes Shell Lake.
Next Tuesday, October 1, Glenwood City will host rival Boyceville.
