The Elk Mound Archery Team (48 members strong) participated in eight tournaments this year starting with the Badger State Tournament in Wausau and ending with the State Tournament in Wisconsin Dells.
They finished off their season on April 6th with a fun afternoon of the archers shooting with a member of their family – parent, sibling, etc. Their scores were added together to see which team was the high-score winner. Third place went to Brent and Lukas Wachsmuth; second place went to Dan Christianson and Kelie Gonzalez-Rosado; first place went to Julie and Millie Gonzalea-Rosado. The shoot ended with three of the seniors that were present (two were unable to attend) , shooting the last arrows of the season.
Following the shoot, everyone was treated to pizza and beverages and the awards ceremony. Most improved Middle School archers were: Jack Sedahl and Serenity Cooper.
Most improved High School archers were: Imani McCray and Erick Sandoval . Most valuable archer based on who encouraged team mates and had the best attitude went to Middle School – Isaac Schnell, and High School – Kayden Gawlitta. Letter winners, which is based not only on tournament scores but attendance at practice, were: Riley Carpenter, Carissa Marko, Joe Muszynski, Autumn Sarbeck, Caitlin Foslid, Erick Sandoval, and Kayden Gawlitta. Kayden was noted for lettering all four years.
Wendy Erdman and Dan Christianson are head coaches, assisted by coaches: Shawn Jensen, Quintin Erdman, and Kendall Siemer.
