EM archers compete in NASP State Tournament

WISCONSIN DELLS — The Elk Mound High and Middle  School Archery teams found success at a recent state tournament.

The Mounders high school squad finished 8th out of 22 teams while the Elk Mound Middle School archery team finished 11th out of 27 teams competing at the Wisconsin NASP State Archery Tournament held Saturday, March 23 at the Woodside Convention Center in Wisconsin Dells.  

[emember_protected] Each team has 24 archers, in the bullseye tournament.

The top EMHS male archer was Mitchell Ruppelt with a 283 and the Mounders’ top female archer was Amanda Holzer with a 276. Top EMMS male archer was Vincent Biegel with a 284 and top EMMS female archer was Maddie Dutzle with a 278.

In the 3D tournament, the EMHS team placed 7th out of 14 teams and the middle school team finished 6th out of 14 teams. The top EMHS male archer was Lane Lee with a 280 and the top EMHS female archer was Amanda Holzer with a 253. Top EMMS male archer was Vincent Biegel with a 283 and top EMMS female archer was Maddie Dutzle with a 245.

Vincent Biegel’s score in the 3D shoot garnered him first place for the middle school boys while he placed 5th in the middle school boys’ bullseye shoot. Vincent’s top finishes qualify him to attend the National Archery Tournament in Louisville, KY on May 10-12, 2018.

Overall, it was a very successful tournament for Elk Mound  as a team and for several Mounders archers who shot their personal best for the season. [emember_protected]
