Rollover fatality occurs in Lucas Township
On Thursday, December 8, 2016, at approximately 6:06 a.m., the Wisconsin State Patrol, Eau Claire Post, received a report of westbound pickup truck rolling over on I-94 near mile marker 34 in Lucas Township, Dunn County.
Troopers responded to the scene and found that a 2000 Ford pickup truck, driven by Karl Frank Petersen, age 21 of Osseo, traveled from the westbound lanes, entered the median, rolled over, and came to final rest in the south ditch of the eastbound lanes. Petersen, who was the lone occupant of the vehicle was ejected from the vehicle and received head and unspecified internal injuries.
The driver was transported to Mayo Hospital in Eau Claire, Wisconsin by Menomonie Ambulance. The crash remains under investigation.
Dunn County Sheriff’s personnel and Menomonie Fire Department assisted at the scene.
