CHIPPEWA FALLS — While one of the two Huber inmates who failed to return to the Chippewa County jail on September 6 has returned, the second inmate is still at large.
According to a news release from the Chippewa County Sheriff’s Department, Mathew Schaffner and Austin Dodson failed to return to jail following work on Tuesday, September 6.
Dodson surrendered and returned back to the Chippewa County jail on Thursday, September 15.
Schaffner is still at large, and there is an active arrest warrant issued in regard to his capture, according to a second news release from Chippewa County sent out at 3 p.m. Monday.
Both Dodson and Schaffner, prior to Dodson’s return, have been seen in and around Dunn County and St. Croix County.
Schaffner is 25 years old, is 5’10”, weighs 210 pounds, has blue eyes and hair that was brown originally but may be dyed purple.
