UW-Eau Claire awards 343 freshmen scholarships

EAU CLAIRE – Three hundred forty-three freshmen at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire have been awarded scholarships for the 2016-17 academic year.

 These awards vary in amount and duration, and complete information about freshman scholarships and criteria can be found online.

Among those who received an award were:

  • Makenna Kay Zurbuchen of Elk Mound, who received the Freshman Honors Award. All incoming freshmen invited to join the University Honors Program during their first fall semester receive a guaranteed $1,000 Freshman Honors Award based on the following criteria: 28+ ACT (1310+ new SAT) and in the top 5% of high school class (or a GPA of 3.95 if class rank is unavailable or #1 in your high school class). 29+ ACT (1350+ new SAT) and in the top 10% of high school class (or a GPA of 3.95 if class rank is unavailable). 30+ ACT (1390+ new SAT) and in the top 15% of high school class (or a GPA of 3.95 if class rank is unavailable).
  • Nicholas Brody Schone of Glenwood City, who received the Freshman Honors Award. All incoming freshmen invited to join the University Honors Program during their first fall semester receive a guaranteed $1,000 Freshman Honors Award based on the following criteria: 28+ ACT (1310+ new SAT) and in the top 5% of high school class (or a GPA of 3.95 if class rank is unavailable or #1 in your high school class). 29+ ACT (1350+ new SAT) and in the top 10% of high school class (or a GPA of 3.95 if class rank is unavailable). 30+ ACT (1390+ new SAT) and in the top 15% of high school class (or a GPA of 3.95 if class rank is unavailable)
