Select Wisconsin high school graduates and continuing education students will be recipients of technician scholarships through the Foundation of the Wisconsin Automobile and Truck Dealers Association (WATDA) sponsored by local dealerships and other foundation partners.
The recipients will use their award to fund their vehicle service education in automotive, diesel or collision technology at the National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF) certified Wisconsin Technical College of their choice.
Among the recipients is Matthew Riste of Colfax. He will receive a full tuition scholarship sponsored by Keyes Chevrolet Inc. in Menomonie. They will also provide Rise with on the job training and mentoring while he attends the GM ASEP program at Dakota County Technical College in Rosemount, MN. In addition to the scholarship, Riste will receive a tool set valued at $3,667 from Snap-on Corporation headquartered in Kenosha, WI.
To date, The Foundation has awarded over 1,600 scholarships. This program encourages young people to pursue a career in the auto and truck industry in Wisconsin.
