Wheeler to bill monthly for sewer and water

WHEELER — Beginning April 1, residents in the Village of Wheeler will be billed monthly for sewer and water utilities, rather than the current billing cycle of every quarter.
Robin Goodell, village clerk-treasurer, told the Wheeler Village Board at the February 9 meeting that a number of people have told her they would prefer being billed monthly for sewer and water.
“I know it would help me. We all live from paycheck to paycheck,” said Linda Crosby, village trustee.
Goodell said it would work best to finish out the current quarter on quarterly billing, and then April 1, begin with monthly billing.
The Wheeler Village Board unanimously approved a motion to change the billing cycle for sewer and water utilities from quarterly to monthly.
James Carter, village president, attended the meeting by speaker phone.
Marlene Larson also serves as a village trustee.
Goodell said she sends out over one hundred sewer and water bills to village residents.
