Three local incoming UW-Eau Claire freshmen receive scholarships
EAU CLAIRE – Karina Wait of Colfax, Jonathan Storing of Elk Mound, and Emily Yang of Elk Mound, were among the four hundred twenty-one freshmen at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire who have been awarded scholarships for the 2015-16 academic year.

The following are recipients from this area, with a brief description of the award:
Karina Wait of Colfax, Junaid & Rakhshan Chida Blugold Promise Scholarship: Donated by individuals and families, the Blugold Promise award is pact between donor and students with promise but limited financial means. Students get $1, 000 their freshman year. Those who perform well academically will receive $500 or more as a sophomore.
Jonathan Storing of Elk Mound, Freshman Honors Award: Freshman Honors Scholarship for $1000 is automatically awarded to incoming students with 28-30 ACT scores nad certain top class rank percentages.
Emily Yang of Elk Mound, Blugold Beginnings Scholarship: The Blugold Beginnings Scholarships are given to past participants of the Blugold Beginnings pre-college program; awards vary from $1,000-$5000 and some are renewable each year.
