EAU CLAIRE – Chippewa Valley Technical College (CVTC) students received 269 scholarships totaling more than $144,000 recently when the CVTC Foundation hosted its annual Scholarship Awards Receptions.
At the events, scholarship recipients were paired at tables with representatives from the families or organizations that generously donated the scholarship funds. Often donors create scholarship funds to memorialize a loved one, or support a cause, but it all comes down to making a difference in the lives of the recipients.
Local students receiving scholarships included:
• From Boyceville: April Lake, Chippewa Valley Technical College Alumni Association Endowment Scholarship and Zenas & Dorothy Beers Memorial Endowment Scholarship; and Tyler Lamm, Auto Value – Eau Claire Auto Parts Scholarship and Jerome Contney Memorial Endowment Scholarship.
• From Colfax: Meghan Lieffort, Cheryl A. Janke Memorial Endowment Scholarship.
• From Glenwood City: Alyssa Harrington, Chippewa Valley Sports Car Club – The Doug Christensen Memorial Scholarship and River City Street Rods Car Club Scholarship; and Rachel Myers, Bryan Higley Memorial Scholarship.
