On Wednesday May 13, 2015 at 5:03 p.m., the St. Croix County Sheriff’s Office responded to a motorcycle v. car crash on USH 12 at 200th St. in the Town of Hammond.
According to witnesses, a 2002 Volkswagon Beetle, driven by Bridget A. Cramer, age 31 from River Falls, WI, was going west on USH 12 and going to make a left turn onto 200th St. A 2002 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by Michael L. Halderson, age 34 from Baldwin WI, was also traveling west on USH 12. The motorcycle collided with the back of the car. Halderson was ejected from the motorcycle and landed on the roadway. The motorcycle came to rest in the middle of the road. The car stopped on 200th St at the intersection with USH 12.
Halderson was transported to the Baldwin Hospital by Baldwin EMS and was then airlifted by Life Link III helicopter to Regions Hospital in St. Paul with serious injuries. Halderson was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Bridget Cramer was not injured.
USH 12 was closed for approximately two (2) hours while deputies conducted their investigation of the crash scene.
Assisting at the scene were Baldwin EMS, United Fire, and the Hammond Police Dept.
The crash remains under investigation by the St. Croix County Sheriff’s Office.
