The Dunn County 911 Center has been receiving numerous calls from concerned citizens who are receiving fictitious calls that appear to be originating from the Sheriff’s Office non-emergency number of 715-232-1348.

The callers are trying to collect money by claiming the Sheriffs office has pending charges or a warrant for their arrest. Sheriff Smith wants the public to know that this is a scam.

If you receive a call such as this please feel free to call the Sheriff’s Office to confirm it was actually a deputy trying to contact you.

Do not send money or release financial information over the phone to anyone you do not know.
