Mau named UW-EC Athlete of the Week

EAU CLAIRE — Colfax graduate Lewis Mau, a senior on the UW-Eau Claire mens basketball team, was named one of the college’s Athletes of the Week for Feb. 9-15.

Mau was close to completing a pair of double-doubles in two home wins, including an 80-62 win over UW-Platteville and a 69-52 win over UW-La Crosse. Against Platteville, Mau scored eight points and snared a game high 10 rebounds with three assists and a steal. In the La Crosse contest, he scored 10 points and added a game high nine boards with a pair of assists and steals each.

For the week, Mau averaged nine points, 9.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1.5 steals, connecting on six of 16 field goals, two of five three pointers and four of five free throws.
