WITC Spring scholarships over $76,000
With touching stories from donors, some laughter and so much generosity and gratitude, 183 scholarships totaling $76,960 were awarded to WITC students for the spring 2015 semester.
Kathleen Bradford of Boyceville, who is enrolled in the Office Support Specialist program, received the Weir Minerals Linatex Scholarship.
Allison Nitchey of Glenwood City, who is enrolled in the Occupational Therapy Assistant program, reiceved the Robert Knowles Scholarship.
WITC-Ashland awarded 25 scholarships totaling $11,800; WITC-New Richmond awarded 42 scholarships totaling $16,750; WITC-Rice Lake awarded 58 scholarships totaling $23,210; and WITC-Superior awarded 57 scholarships totaling $25,200.
Generous WITC Foundation donors provide nearly 400 scholarships a year, the 2013-2014 academic year totaling more than $147,000. Foundation funds come from individuals, businesses and community organizations, as well as the annual wine tastings, and golf and fish tournaments held at each campus.
