MENOMONIE — The Dunn County Fair begins in Menomonie today (Wednesday) and runs through Sunday, July 27.
Admission is $1 per person and is $2 per person after 4 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. A season pass to the fair is $10. Parking is free.
The carnival opens at 5 p.m. Wednesday afternoon. Menomonie Idol will be on the free stage at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, and at 7 p.m. the Dunn County Fair Farm Tractor Pull will be held in the grandstand area.
Thursday, the carnival opens at 1 p.m. Menomonie Idol Finals take place on the free stage at 6 p.m. The grandstand entertainment at 7 p.m. is the Dunn County Fair Enduro Race.
Once again, the carnival opens at 1 p.m. on Friday. At 2 p.m. and 4 p.m., the free stage features James Wedgwood, comic ventriloquist.
At 7 p.m. on Friday, Red Cedar Races are scheduled at the grandstand.
Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m., the carnival opens. At 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. on the free stage is Lizzy the Dream Girl, performing Hip Hypnosis. At 3 p.m., the small animal auction will take place. The meat animal auction is scheduled at 5 p.m.
At 7 p.m. on Saturday, the grandstand will feature the National Tractor Pullers Association (NTPA) truck and tractor pull. At 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. at the free stage will be Divas Through the Decades (a musical tribute).
The carnival opens for the final time at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
At noon on Sunday, the free stage will feature The Memories Gospel Show.
A demolition derby is scheduled at the grandstand at 1 p.m.
On the free stage at 2:30 p.m. is The Memories Variety Show.
Visitors to the fair can ride unlimited during open times for $40 in advance or $60 at the ticket booth.
Thursday night there will be a Relay for Life event called “The Brighten the Way 5K.”
