Over the weekend the country was informed that the Groundhog saw his shadow, which means six more weeks of winter.
Six long weeks of winter means cold and snow will continue into the middle of March. However as depressing as the doomed “six more weeks” sounds, winter ending in March would be quite the treat compared to last year.
Punxsutawney Phil, the Groundhog, predicated an early spring last year and that resulted in Western Wisconsin getting delivered a large dumping of snow on May 4.
Whether winter ends early or not, the forecast for the month of February looks to remain cold with temperatures staying below 30 with night time temps in the negatives a few days until the end of the month, according to the Weather Channel.
