Youngster dies, one injuried as snow collapses roof in Boyd

BOYD, WI—A ten-year-old boy died and his seven-year-old sister was injured when snow collapsed a roof on a storage area on the family farm.

According to Chippewa County Sheriff, James Kowalczyk an incident happened on December 28th in the Town of Delmar on 320 Street when the children of Lamar Nolt, Nelson age 10 and Norma age 7 were crushed as a result of snow falling from a barn roof onto a secondary roof, which collapsed onto the skid steer which was parked the shed.

The two children were on the skid steer at the time the roof collapsed. The children were transported to hospitals in Eau Claire and then to Rochester.

The Sheriff reported on January 2nd that he was informed by the father of  the children that Nelson was removed from life support and passed away on December 30th. According to the January 2nd news release, Norma is on life support and in very serious condition.
