SPRING BROOK — A 35-year-old Town of Spring Brook man has been arrested after a domestic disturbance, firing a gun and fleeing the scene.

According to a news release from the Dunn County Sheriff’s Department, 35-year-old Joshua Hoover was arrested at around noon on Friday, December 13, by the Pepin County Sheriff’s Department.

The Dunn County Sheriff’s Department had responded on December 12 to a residence on 420th Avenue in the Town Spring Brook southwest of Elk Mound for a reported domestic disorderly conduct incident.

According to the report, Hoover had broken his wife’s phone. Deputies calmed down the situation, but a short time later, Hoover broke the bedroom door, got his truck keys and left the house.

Hoover’s wife followed him outside, and once Hoover was outside, he took a gun from his truck, loaded it, and fired two shots into the air.

Hoover then fled in his truck before law enforcement officers arrived.

Hoover was arrested the next day at 11:56 a.m. at a residence near Durand and was taken into custody by the Pepin County Sheriff’s Department without incident, according to the news release from Dunn County.

Hoover was arrested on domestic charges and was being held in the Dunn County Jail as of Friday.
