Two Elk Mound girls compete at college level
Freshmen Emma Hayes and Becca Kopp, both 2103 graduates of Elk Mound High School, continued their athletic careers at the collegiate level this fall.
Emma was a member of the UW-River Falls cross country team and had the chance to run in a couple of meets for the team. She placed 117th of 148 at the Falcon Invite with a time of 26:38 in the 6K race and finished 343rd of 471 competitors at the Tori Neubauer meet with a time of 26:32.
Kopp was one of 11 members of the Riverland Community College team out of Albert Lea, MN and played in every match for the Blue Devils. Complete stats and the teams final record were not available at press time.
