Man hit while fleeing police

MENOMONIE — A Dunn County man was struck by a car and injured while trying to flee on foot from area law enforcement.

Joshua T. Morrow, 25 of Knapp, received non-life threatening injuries when he ran into the path of a vehicle while fleeing on foot from the custody of the Menomonie Police Department around 8:30 p.m. Saturday, November 25 on Highways 12/29 in the City of Menomonie.

According to a report from the Wisconsin State Patrol, who investigated the crash incident, Joshua T. Morrow fled from the custody of Menomonie Police and was struck by an eastbound car as he tried to cross Highway 12/29 in front of Mayo Health Clinic System-Menomonie Hospital near 21st Street.

Morrow was hit by a car driven by 65-year-old Roger E. Salow of Chippewa Falls. Salow was not injured in the crash but his passenger and wife, Linda K. Salow, 65, received facial cuts from glass fragments. She was treated for her injuries and released.

Morrow was taken to another area hospital were he was treated for his injuries.

The Dunn County Sheriff’s Department and Menomonie Fire and Rescue assisted at the accident scene.

The crash remains under investigation by the State Patrol.
