Winter weather claims 2 on I-94 Crash Monday
CADY TOWNSHIP — A single vehicle accident on I-94 early Monday evening, April 22nd claimed the lives of an Altoona, Wisconsin couple.
According to a news release from the Wisconsin State Patrol a 1999 Buick LeSabre was eastbound on I-94 near mile marker 31 in St. Croix County and lost control on the slush covered pavement, entered the median, struck a guardrail, and rolled over landing on the roadway below. The road was identified as Norseman Road.
Two of the occupants of the vehicle received fatal injuries and a third passenger received minor injuries.
Dead are the driver of the vehicle, Harvey A. Wick, 85 and 84 year-old Ruth M. Wick. Injured was Judy K. Harris, 54, of Spooner, Wis. She was transported to the Baldwin Hospital. The report indicated that only Harvey and Judy were wearing seat belts at the time of the accident.
The St. Croix County Sheriff’s Department, and the Baldwin EMS assisted at the accident scene. The accident remains under investigation by the state patrol.
