Massachusetts community considers taking down wind turbines

A Fox News report about the community of Falmouth, Massachusetts which wanted to be a green community and in 2010 installed a couple of wind turbines is now considering their removal.

The ten million dollar investment has neighbors complaining about illnesses and noise. “It gets to be jet-engine loud”, said a local resident who home is a quarter mile from one of the two turbines.

That town resident said, “every time the blade has a downward movement it gives off a tremendous energy, gives off a pulse and that pulse, it gets into your tubular organs, chest cavity, mimics a heartbeat, gives you a headaches. It’s extremely disturbing and it gets to the point where you have to leave.

The Fox New story did not indicate if these two wind turbines are anything like the ones that are being planned for the town of Forest in St. Croix County.

Town officials say it could take between five and fifteen million to remove the two wind turbines. At present they are operational from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and that apparently means they’re operating at a loss.
