Boyceville man charged with fifth OWI

CHIPPEWA COUNTY – A Boyceville man has been arrested by the Wisconsin State Patrol for his fifth offense of operating a motor vehicle under the influence.

John D. Polk, 51, of Boyceville was stopped by a Wisconsin State Trooper around 10:23 p.m. on Wednesday, February 6 while traveling on State Road 29 near Cadott for a speeding violation.

According to a news release from the State Patrol, the Trooper detected indicators of impairment and conducted subsequent tests on Polk, which resulted in his arrest for operating while intoxicated (OWI) for the fifth time. Besides the OWI, Polk was also charged with operating a vehicle after revocation, his fourth offense.

Polk was booked into the Chippewa County Jail later that evening.
