One death on STH 64 this weekend
On January 27th, 2013 at 1:07 p.m. the Dunn County Communication center was notified of a three-vehicle crash on STH 64 about a mile west of CTH VV.
Dunn County Sheriff’s deputies, Boyceville Ambulance and Boyceville Fire Department responded to the scene. Wisconsin State Patrol was also requested to do a reconstruction of the crash.
Upon the initial investigation it appears that an east bound passenger car side-swiped a west bound pickup truck. That initial crash caused the car to slide sideways into the path of the second west bound pickup truck which struck the car on the passenger side of the vehicle. The passenger of the car, Andrea R. Becken, 45, from Cameron, was killed on impact with the second truck.
Slippery road conditions are suspected to have contributed to the crash. The Dunn County Sheriff’s Office is reminding everyone to slow down and take their time when the road conditions are poor.
The drivers and passengers of the two trucks involved were uninjured due to the use of seat belts and air bags. The driver of the car was transported to Mayo Hospital in Eau Claire and is being treated for injuries. It is unknown at this time of the severity of his injuries.
The crash remains under investigation by the Dunn County Sheriff’s Department and Wisconsin State Patrol.
