Village of Wilson asks for water rate increase

The Village of Wilson is asking the state Public Service Commission for authority to increase rates for it’s municipal water utility.

The village is requesting an overall increase in annual revenues of $8,209 or an increase of 39 percent over present revenues. The last time the rates were increased was in 1982.
The commission will determine the actual level of the revenue requirement after reviewing the application and holding a hearing. The hearing will be scheduled at a later date.
