What is happening at the Glenwood City Public Library?

The Glenwood City Public Library is going to have a great Civil War Presentation Planned on May 13 at 11:00. Civil War Re-enactors will be showing you great artifacts, uniforms, and share facts with you. This is a family friendly event and free. After the presentation and weather permitting the Civil war soldiers will demonstrate their cannon so be prepared for the loud BOOM.

The Library staff would love to invite you to the library and check out their outside games. All our outside games can be checked out for your use. We have games such as Horse shoes, Large Connect Four, Lawn Yahtzee, Badminton and more. Come on down we would love to see you. 

We have great projects planed for children and adults this May so we hope to see you there. If you have any questions about a project or program please don’t hesitate give us a call or stop in.

Monday Craft Night – Monday’s from 4:00-6:00. Our Monday Craft Night is open to all ages. If you are unable to attend and would like to try these projects at home please call and we will be happy to give you the recipe/instructions. These are free events, pictures might be taken during the craft for our Facebook Page, and children under 8 should be accompanied by an adult.

• May 15 – Easy Beaded Rainbow Windchime

• May 22 – How to make an Ice Cream Cone Handprint

Special Presentation – May 13 at 11:00 – Civil War Presentation with firing of the Cannon After the Presentation.

Peter Rabbit’s Storytime – Every Friday – 10:00-11:00

Kids Book Club– Glenwood City Public Library is introducing their Kids Book Club. It is open to ages 0-18 years old and very easy to do.

• Sign up and receive a punch card.

• Every visit to the library with a check out you get your card punched.

• When you have all 16 punch s you get a free book to take home.

Afternoon Book Club – Meets on the First Monday’s of the Month at 12:30 in the library. Call today and reserve your copy.

• July 10 – Will to Murder: The True Story Behind the Crimes & Trial surrounding the Glensheen Killings. By Gail Feichtinger

Friends of the Library Book Club – Meets every 4th Monday of the Month at 7:00. Call today to reserve your copy.

• May 22 – Under the Whispering Door. By TJ Klune

• June 26 – Kite Runner. By Khaled Hosseini

1000 Books Before Kindergarten – “The concept is simple; the rewards are priceless. Read a book (any book) to your newborn, infant, and or toddler. The goal is to have read 1,000 books (yes you can repeat books) before your precious one starts kindergarten.” (1000booksbeforekindergarten.org) Come in today to sign your child up, rewards are given at 3 milestones.
